It's not quite in the traditional virtual world space, but it's certainly a part of the trend of using massive, immersive environments to continue the story of traditional entertainment properties that Jon Landau discussed at Virtual Worlds Expo. Trion, for example, is co-developing a series and virtual world with the SciFi channel, Multiverse is prepping its own Buffy the Vampire Slayer world, and, at the younger levels, the BBC has been exploring similar concepts for Tronji for some time.

On a personal note, I couldn't be more excited as the 10th of the 12-book series is currently sitting next to my bed.
