I think the great part about EQ was that even though you where grinding, it was addictive and fun as hell.. You would camp single spots for 2-32 hours at a time for that one named mob (leading to the nickname evercrack). After WoW games lost that fun of the grind it seems.. AOC was grindy from 50-80 and it was boring as piss.. Not to mention the games was terrible!

I got tired of the grinding in EQ1...I never felt that way about EQ2 though. There were quests I had to kill 100 of certain things though.

I wish EQ1 had the quest systems back in the day like WoW/EQ2/Vanguard, etc... 7 hours a day of pointless grinding...I look back and wonder why I spent so much time wasting my life away on EQ1.

I hear the grind in EQ/EQ2 was terrible. My friends tried getting me into those MMOs, and when I hear them wax reminiscent about spending a day or two travelling to an instance plane or camping a mob for a rare weapon for days... what a time sink. I'm glad I never saw an appeal in them.

The grind in WoW isn't too bad and they keep making it easier and easier to level. Now the grind for money on the other hand... it's easier than it used to be, but still a time sink. I don't want to waste an hour or two of game time doing dailies when I could be levelling an alt or having fun doing an instance. This means I am almost always broke but that's something I've come to accept.

Yea i play WoW and d&D. I hate WoW cuz the quest get boring and in diablo 2 when i played grinding kinda was easy and fun but it got boring after awhile.

I admit i don't like grinding and even in d&d i hate killing stuff to level but that's part of the game. I love hack and slash and i like getting gear and prized over general xp.

well yea they should make it so quests get you to the level you need to get to. Massive grinding does lead to botters and hackers sadly. But then again without the griniding it wouldn't be as adventurous ya know

yea if they would make wow a one time payment they would get so many more people to play that it would probably cover the costs. All they have to do is make more stuff to sell ingame that you pay real money for ya get my drift

Eugh, no, that'd ruin the game. I like the fact that you don't have to pay real-world money for in-game stuff. There's already enough people who do that on the side like selling the trading card rewards and stuff.
